Terms of Service

Last updated: June 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StudyBoost (the “Service”), operated by StudyBoost / Boost Lab (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

StudyBoost provides productivity and study-planning tools. Features may change over time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where practicable.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate registration information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You may not share your account in a way that violates these Terms. Authentication may be provided through Google Firebase Authentication and other methods we enable.

3. Subscriptions and billing

  • 30-day free trial: When you create an account, you receive 30 days of full Pro access at no charge, with no payment method required. After this period ends, you must choose a paid plan to continue using Pro features.
  • Paid plans: When you subscribe through Stripe, an additional 7-day free trial may apply before the first charge (payment method required), as shown at checkout. Plans renew automatically on a monthly, semester, or annual basis until you cancel.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel renewal at any time from Settings → Stripe billing (Customer Portal). Cancellation stops future charges; you typically keep access until the end of the current billing period.
  • Payment processing: Payments are processed by Stripe. You agree to Stripe’s terms and privacy practices for payment transactions. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Price changes: We may change fees with advance notice where required. Continued use after a change may constitute acceptance of new pricing where permitted.

4. Refund policy

Because we offer a 30-day free trial on signup (no payment required) and an optional 7-day trial at Stripe checkout, we generally do not issue refunds for routine subscription charges once a billing period has started and you have used the Service.

  • No refunds for partial billing periods or for subscriptions where Pro features were used during the paid period.
  • Cancellation is not a refund: if you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period already paid; you will not be charged again unless you resubscribe.
  • Exceptional cases only (duplicate charge, clear billing error, or first charge with no meaningful use of Pro features) may be reviewed case by case. Contact studio.boostlab@gmail.com from your account email.
  • Promotional or beta access codes are non-refundable unless we expressly say otherwise.
  • Where consumer protection laws in your region require otherwise, your statutory rights apply.

5. Disclaimer — “as is”

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

StudyBoost is a study and organization tool. We do not guarantee any specific academic outcome, grade, exam result, or admission outcome. Your results depend on many factors outside our control. You are solely responsible for how you use the Service and for meeting your academic obligations.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) one hundred (100) USD, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service—for example, by attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfere with infrastructure, scrape in violation of our policies, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, branding, and content we provide, is owned by us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or as needed to comply with law. Provisions that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, limitations, indemnities) will survive termination.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction we designate for disputes, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may require additional notice where required by law. Continued use after changes may constitute acceptance.
